Decorative Peak Beam Bracket - Diamond Finial - (DFBBRB3)
The peak is the first thing people see. The DFBBRB3 is the custom steel plate that sits there — joining the two rafters where they meet at the top of the truss, and finishing that joint with a diamond finial instead of a blank piece of steel.
This is not a T-plate, not an X-plate, and not a post cap. It is a ridge / rafter-peak connector. One plate. Two sloped rafters. One diamond point at the apex. Use it on a pergola, gazebo, pavilion, porch gable, arbor, or timber-frame roof when you want the highest joint on the structure to look designed, not leftover.
We cut each DFBBRB3 to the actual timber sizes and roof pitch you give us, then drill the hole pattern to match the hardware you will install. Fabricated as a single piece of American carbon steel in Superior, Wisconsin — no stacked straps, no welded-together leftover angles.

Most timber brackets live at posts, beams, and corners. This one lives at the ridge.
It pulls two opposing rafters into one clean meeting point, keeps the peak aligned, and puts a diamond finial on the skyline of the roof. That is why the SKU exists, and why it should not be swapped with a flat T or a cropped L unless your joint is actually a T or an L.

Why this peak plate ranks — and why it belongs on the roof
- Built for the apex, not the post. Connects rafter to rafter at the truss peak. Different job than DFTB10 (beam-to-post T) or SLSB13 (90° L).
- Diamond finial as the crown. The pointed diamond is the visual finish of the roof line — the detail people photograph from the driveway.
- Cut to your pitch. The legs are angled to the timber placement you specify, so the plate follows the roof instead of fighting it.
- One-piece American steel. Plasma-cut and finished as a single plate. No weld seams at the most visible joint on the building.
- Sized to real timbers. Give us the actual rafter width and thickness, not the nominal “2x” or “6x” label. Wrong size cannot be returned because this is made to order.
- Finish that matches the rest of the ironwork. Powder coat, painted color, oil-rubbed, brushed, rusted and clear-coated, or unfinished bare steel.
- CAD before we cut. After you order, we can verify the dimensions and send a drawing so you see the peak plate on paper before it hits the table.
