Decorative 3-Legged Beam Truss Corner Bracket – Diamond Finial - (DFBB3L)
 
A truss corner is three members, not two. Post coming up. Beam running through. Rafter leaving on the pitch. The DFBB3L is the decorative three-leg plate for that corner — one piece of steel, three legs, diamond finial at the joint.
 
This is not the peak plate. The peak only sees two rafters. This is not the six-leg web plate. The web sits in the middle of the truss. And it is not a flat T on a post. A T has no rafter leg. DFBB3L is the corner gusset: post + main beam + sloped rafter, finished with the same diamond motif as the rest of the decorative set.
 
We cut each plate to the actual timber sizes and roof pitch you send us, drill it for the hardware on the job, and finish it in Superior, Wisconsin from American carbon steel. One piece. No stacked straps.
Read the corner before you pick the SKU
 
Stand at the eave end of the truss and count what lands there.
  • Vertical post
  • Horizontal beam or tie
  • Rafter or brace leaving on an angle
That is a three-leg corner. That is DFBB3L.If you only have beam and post, order DFTB10.
If you only have two rafters at the ridge, order DFBBRB3.
If six members meet in the middle of the truss, order DFBB6L.
If the corner has no third member, do not force a three-leg plate onto a two-member joint.
Why the diamond lives on this corner
 
The corner is where the roof starts to lift. People see it from the yard, from under the pergola, and in photos of the gable. A plain gusset disappears. A diamond-finial corner plate makes the turn look intentional.
 
The three legs do the work:
  • One leg down the post
  • One leg along the beam
  • One leg up the rafter, cut to the pitch
The finial sits at the convergence so the ironwork has a center, not just three straps pointing at each other.

  • Roof pitch or the angle between beam and rafter
  • How far each leg should run
  • Steel thickness (1/8" to 1/2"+)
  • Hole size, count, and placement
  • Diamond finial scale
  • Finish to match DFBB2L, DFBB6L, DFTB10, and DFBBRB3

How to order the corner, not a near-miss
  1. Confirm three members at the joint.
  2. Measure each timber — real width and thickness, not the yard-stamp size.
  3. Write down the pitch. The rafter leg is useless if it is square and the roof is not.
  4. Match thickness and holes to the hardware already spec’d.
  5. Match the finish to the rest of the diamond set so the corners do not look like a different job.
