Decorative 6-Legged Beam Truss Center Bracket – Diamond Finial - (DFBB6L)
 
A truss does not live at the peak. It lives in the web — the crowded center where a horizontal beam, a post, and the rafter lines all land in one place. The DFBB6L is the decorative six-leg plate for that joint: one piece of steel, six legs, diamond finial in the middle.
 
This is the ornamental version of a 6-legged truss center / web plate. It is not a ridge peak plate (that is DFBBRB3). It is not a two-leg corner plate (that is DFBB2L). It is not a plain T on a post. Count the members at the hub. If six timber faces need to land on one plate, this is the SKU.
 
We build each DFBB6L to the actual timber sizes and brace angles on your drawing, drill it for the hardware you will use, and finish it to match the rest of the diamond-finial set. One-piece American carbon steel, made in Superior, Wisconsin.
What a six-leg center plate is for
 
Open a truss and look at the middle, not the roof point.
 
Typical layout:
  • A horizontal beam running through the center
  • A post or queen-post line
  • Rafters or angle braces coming in from both sides
That hub wants one plate that can speak to every member. Six legs give you that map. The diamond finial sits in the visual center so the web reads as designed ironwork instead of a shop-made gusset.
 
Use DFBB6L when the truss is exposed and the center joint will be seen from the patio, the driveway, or inside the pavilion.
How this SKU is different from the rest of the diamond line
  • DFBBRB3 — two rafters at the peak. Two slopes. One ridge.
  • DFBB2L / DFBB3L — corners of the truss, fewer members.
  • DFTB10 — beam to a single post. A T, not a web.
  • BB6L — the same six-leg center geometry without the diamond finial.
  • DFBB6L — six-leg center web + diamond finial. The decorative hub plate.
If you put a peak plate in the web, the legs will not hit the timbers. If you put a T in a six-member hub, two or four members get left without steel. Spec the plate to the joint you actually have.
What we customize on the DFBB6LThis plate only fits if the geometry is honest:
  • Number and direction of the six legs
  • Angle of each rafter, brace, or queen post
  • How each leg dies into the beam or post
  • Overall plate size and individual leg length
  • Steel thickness (1/8" through 1/2"+)
  • Hole size, count, and placement for bolts or lags
  • Diamond finial scale so it reads at the center of the web
  • Finish: powder coat, painted color, oil-rubbed, brushed, rusted and clear-coated, or unfinished

Order the web, not a guess
  1. Count the members at the hub. If it is six, stay on DFBB6L.
  2. Measure each timber at the joint — actual width and thickness, not the tag size.
  3. Record the angles. Roof pitch alone is not enough if braces come in at a different slope.
  4. Choose thickness and hole size from the hardware on the job.
  5. Match the finish to DFBBRB3, DFBB2L, DFBB3L, and DFTB10 so the set looks like one family.
