Bia Finial Connecting Truss Bracket - Roof Peak Bracket - (RPBBF)

The RPBBF is the peak plate. It sits where two rafters meet at the top of the truss—not at the king-post hub and not at the eave corner.

One piece of A36 structural steel. Two sloped legs cut to your pitch. The Bia finial at the apex so this plate matches the rest of the Bia Finial line (BB5LBF center plate, BB3LBF corner plate, and the Bia T and L brackets).Peak plate vs center plate vs corner plate
  • RPBBF — two rafters at the ridge
  • BB5LBF — beam, king post, and braces in the middle of the truss
  • BB3LBF — post, beam, and rafter at the corner
Kits often sell a whole truss package at a listed beam size. That only helps if every joint on your job matches their list. Order RPBBF when you need the ridge plate cut to your rafter width and pitch.

Stock gable plates and thin “decorative peak” imports are one size. This plate is A36, sized to the dressed timber, and drilled for the hardware you will use.

What to specify
  • Rafter width (measure the actual board)
  • Roof pitch on each side
  • Steel thickness
  • Hole size and pattern
  • Finish
The Bia motif is there so the peak matches the other Bia plates. The decision is still fit, steel, and pitch.

Where it is used

Pergola and pavilion ridges, gazebo peaks, porch gables, arbors, and exposed timber-frame truss apexes.

If the rest of the job is diamond-finial hardware, use DFBBRB3 instead. Use RPBBF when the set is Bia Finial.

After you order, the layout can be drawn for approval before the plate is cut. Confirm loads and fastening with your engineer or local code.
