5-Legged Beam Truss Center Bracket - Double Crop - (CCBB5L)
 
The CCBB5L is a custom 5-leg plate for the center of an exposed timber truss. It covers the hub where a main beam, king post, and angle braces come together.
 
It is cut from A36 structural steel—the same grade used on load-bearing plates and brackets—not light decorative sheet. One piece. No welds. Sized to your actual timbers, brace angles, hole pattern, and finish.
 
Why this plate instead of a kit or a stock 5-arm plate
 
Truss kits sell a full package at a listed beam width and pitch. That works if your layout matches their menu. It does not if your posts are dressed cedar, your pitch is off-list, or you only need the center plate.
 
Fixed “5-arm” pergola plates are one size and thin stock. Toothed nail plates are for hidden factory trusses, not a face-mounted architectural joint.CCBB5L is the single center plate when you already know the joint and want that connection cut from A36 to your dimensions.
 
What actually matters when you order

  • Brace / roof pitch
  • Steel thickness in A36
  • Hole size and pattern
  • Finish
The double crop is only an edge treatment so the plate sits a little tighter on the members. Choose it if you want that look. The square 5-leg (BB5L) is the same A36 hub plate without that cut.
 
Where it is used
 
Pergolas, pavilions, gazebos, porch roofs, barns, and timber-frame trusses where the center joint is visible.
 
After you order, the layout can be drawn for approval before the plate is cut. Confirm loads and fastening with your engineer or local code.
